Sean Metzger

I am a Ph.D. student in the UC Berkeley/UCSF graduate program in bioengineering advised by Edward Chang.

My passion is using machine learning and science to help people and advance our understanding of what makes us human. My research focus is on neuroscience, brain computer interfaces, and self-supervised learning.

In my free time I enjoy cycling, making music, and playing soccer.

My work has been featured in the New York Times (front page July 15, 2021), Washington Post, Science Magazine, WSJ, NPR, and more.
